Well...we made it!

Just wanted to let you know that we have arrived in Rwanda…us and ALL of our luggage….Thank you Lord!!

This country is incredibly beautiful! Everywhere you look is colour. The girls have adjusted very quickly and are not bothered by the poverty that is around us at all. They think that this place is amazing…which it truly is.

We have been out to Victory Family Home of Champions twice so far…..we would prefer it to be more but we have to hire a driver to get out there right now and it costs a bit but we should hopefully be moved into our home next to the orphanage by the weekend……please pray for that to be the case.

The children are so beautiful. They sang and danced for us when we first got there! They also presented Dean and I with a flower arrangement that they had made…it was so amazing. They seem to know who we are already and call us Mama and Papa and they call Baylee and Julia Sister! They love it! Julia has all of the kids running around after her playing tag or ball or whatever made up game they decide to play. Baylee, being a bit more serious loves to entertain the smaller children. There is one little guy out there by the name of Claude Pastor, he is newer to the home and very shy. He will let me pick him up but he won’t look me in the eye and he NEVER says anything, but when he sees Baylee he gets a huge smile on his face and he runs right into her arms!

We are busy trying to buy a vehicle for the Home but are finding it a bit difficult as because we are Muzungus (white people) we must be rich…..hahaha! The price continues to go up for vehicles that are not that great but we are holding firm that we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of.

We are settling into this new home land nicely. We have opened up a personal bank account, bought a cell phone and registered with the Canadian Embassy. We feel very safe here and the people are very warm. They love the girls blonde hair…I think for it’s colour and texture. They like to touch Julia’s hair…it’s soft and fine.

Please continue to pray for our safety, spiritually, mentally and physically. This is so important I can’t express that enough.

I will send another email once we get settled into our new home. Thank you so very much for your prayer and support, words alone cannot tell you how much it means to us to have such great support back home…you truly are a blessing to us here.

Please feel free to email us anytime. We would LOVE to hear from you and will do our best to write you back quickly.

Thanks again and God Bless…

Blessings,

The Torgersons
